As one of the nation’s 20 largest public universities and one of Miami-Dade County’s 10 largest employers, FIU offers countless opportunities for organizations and individuals to form relationships with our university and community.
With nearly 38,000 students, more than 113,000 alumni and more than 7,300 employees, FIU has experienced phenomenal growth since it opened its doors for classes in 1972. Today the university offers more than 200 baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral programs and has earned a membership in Phi Beta Kappa, the nation’s most prestigious academic honor society. As the youngest member institution of that organization, FIU continues to develop areas of distinction – including our programs in international business, sciences, and creative writing -- that have gained national recognition for their excellence.
Today FIU is a major economic force, poised to assume an even more vital role in our region’s prosperity and growth with the creation of South Florida’s first public medical school in the next few years. Working in partnership with FIU, organizations could benefit from the synergy inherent in our university community.
Donors will find FIU particularly compelling. As a majority-minority institution, multiple occasions exist to transform the lives of our students and elevate the academic offerings at the university. By endowing a professorship or supporting our research facilities, you will help FIU move forward in its goal of becoming one of our country’s top public research universities. |
