Mr. Thom Davis has 24 years of financial management experience including 14 years of executive management experience in higher education. Serving as Associate Vice President for Finance and Controller, Mr. Davis oversees the Office of the Controller including Accounting and Reporting Services, Tax Compliance Services, and Student Financial Services; and the Office of Procurement Services including Procurement Services, Asset Management and Receiving Services, and Payment Services (Accounts Payable and Travel).
Mr. Davis joined Florida International University (FIU) in 2009. Prior to joining FIU, Mr. Davis served as Associate Vice President for Administration and Finance and Controller for Texas Tech University, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Simpson University, Assistant Vice President for Business Services and Controller with Redding Bank of Commerce, and Manager with Deloitte and Touche, Ernst and Young, and KPMG Peat Marwick where he worked with clients in the wine industry, banking industry, research and development companies, and closely held corporations.
Mr. Davis is a Certified Public Accountant and has a Master's of Science in Taxation and Bachelor's of Science in Accounting, magna cum laude, from Golden Gate University, San Francisco, California.
