Florida and Non-Florida Residents Tuition Fee and Financial Assistance Estimator for Undergraduate, Continuing and New Graduate Students
2007 - 2008 Academic Year

Continuing Student Criteria:

You are a degree-seeking student admitted prior to Fall 2006 and enrolled Spring 2008 and/or Summer 2008.
Your continuing status ends upon receipt of a degree Spring 2007 or thereafter.
Your continuing status also ends when you begin a degree program requiring a new application.

New Student Criteria:

You are a first time admitted degree-seeking student to Florida International University Fall 2006 or thereafter.
You are a non-degree seeking student.
You are a FIU graduate admitted to a new degree program Fall 2006 or thereafter.
You are a former student who is readmitted after an absence of two or more semesters, excluding military withdrawals.

*If a student registers after the regular registration deadline they will be assessed a late registration fee of $100.00. Likewise, if a student does not pay their tuition by the fee payment deadline there is a $100.00 late payment fee assessed.

*Pursuant to Section 1009.285, F.S., each student enrolled in the same undergraduate course more than twice shall be assessed an additional $179.88 per credit hour in addition to the fees outlined above for each such course.

*If a student participates in the Florida Prepaid College Program the program will cover the state portion of tuition which is the same for all 10 state Universities. The student would be responsible for paying the local fees and the material and supply fees by the fee payment deadline.

**Certain Scholarships, Grants and loans will pay for less than full time attendance and others will not, or they may require a minimal amount of credit hours in order to pay. Check with your awarding agency, contract or with the Financial Aid Office to determine if you are still eligible to receive Financial Assistance if you are not attending the University on a full time basis.
Full Time Attendance is; Undergraduate = 12 Cr. Hr. per term or Graduate = 9 Cr. Hr. per term.

6 - 8 credits = $113
9 - 11 credits = $169
12+ credits = $225

CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS - Non-refundable Credit Card Surcharge is 2% of amount paid. To make a credit card payment, just access the Student Administration System with your new Panther ID, go to Lerner Services, click "Make a Payment", and click "Credit Card Information". The system will walk you through the process and produce a Confirmation number. Please print a copy of your payment and Confirmation number for your records.
